Interested in featuring your art at The Deep End Cafe & Gallery? Here’s what you need to know:

  • Features are typically one month. If there are special circumstances we are happy to accommodate as much as we can.

  • Featured artists install their art on our grid wall via hooks. We provide the hooks. Features also provide labels for each piece with a title, size, price, etc.) You can see an example in the photo. If you prefer a different set up, just let us know in your application or via phone call when we follow up. We will do our best to accommodate.

  • The artist keeps 75% and the gallery keeps 25% of each sale. This allows us to always improve our space to create a better experience for artists and visitors.

  • We ask that you complete the application linked below in order to be considered as a feature. If you need help with answering the questions, please call 734.301.8376. This is not to judge you or your art. We use the application to ensure artists align with our values and are prepared to feature at the gallery. We will always give you feedback if we feel your application was missing important components and you are welcome to reapply. We schedule artists based on availability, preference and with the best marketing strategy in mind.

BAM

We interviewed BAM and here is what they shared…

BAM, tell us a little more about you…

As a young girl from Detroit being vocal wasn't my strong suit. Around the 5th grade I discovered my voice through drawing and art. Throughout the years, with no formal training, my skills and talents grew beyond my wildest dreams. Discovering my love and passion for art led me to quit my job and put everything into my dream. My brand, B.A.M (because art matters) was born. It became my mission to spread the importance of creativity through art. I'm inspired by everyday people, bright colors and nostalgia. I enjoy painting colorful portraits, 90s cartoons and whatever else touches my heart. Never stop creating and remember nothing in this world exists without Art!!!

How has art impacted your life?

I was bullied from elementary school till my 11th grade year...through all that I endured art saved my life. Having that sense of control and freedom gave me hope and something to hold on to. Then and even now....art is my best friend.

What is your "why" as an artist? In other words, tell us why you do art. Why is your art important to you and what are your hopes?

Just as art gave me a voice and saved my life....I want to save others with my art. Spread joy and love....maybe even plant a seed of creativity in someone who needs it.

Please describe your medium of art. What tools and materials do you use? Tell us a little about your process.

My main medium is acrylics on canvas and wood. I have a new found love for oils and I'm working on perfecting my technique.

We ask that our featured artists submit art that represents a specific theme for their gallery feature. Please describe the theme of the art you would submit for your feature at the cafe. What overall message or impact do you hope to inspire with these selected pieces?
